Mao Yamaguchi

Mao graduated from International Christian University with the degree of International studies. After the acquisition of a primary school teacher license in Hyogo University of Teacher Education, she worked at a primary school in Osaka for 2 years. With the knowledge and the experience, she joined a volunteer program organized by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as an elementary school teacher in Uganda to teach P.E., Music and Math during her 2-year tenure. She also put her effort on promoting P.E. in Ugandan primary schools as a project manager who liaised with the Ministry of Education and Sports, Teacher’s colleges, and primary schools in Uganda. With these experiences, she studied the notion and the theory of education for international development as well as the technique of planning educational projects in low-and middle income countries in a MA course of University College London. She started her new journey in Tiger Mov to challenge the current Japanese education system to be more dynamic to the extent which can cultivate the mind of global citizenship in youth and children.
